BLAZE BAYLEY Issues Update On Drummer Search

July 19, 2007

Blaze Bayley's (ex-IRON MAIDEN, WOLFSBANE) is seeking a new drummer for his solo band following the recent departure of Rico Banderra. Bayley's web site has been updated with the following message:

"Thank you to everyone that has applied for the position of the drummer. We have had a massive response, all the audition CDs have been sent out and U.K. applicants should have them by now and all overseas should get them in the next couple of days, if you do not please let me know. The audition will take place in the Midlands and we will ask that six songs be played by you unassisted by any other musician or CD. Your audition will be assessed on how fantastic your drumming is and your overall persona and team spirit. Can you all please let me know which date suits you best from the emails I have sent you and we will do our best to accommodate that for you but no guarantees. The very best of luck to you and look forward to having you in our band."

As previously reported. Metal Mind Productions has set an August 6 European release date (September 3 in the U.S.) for Blaze Bayley's DVD. Entitled "Alive in Poland" (view cover artwork at this location),the disc was recorded at the 21st edition of the Metalmania Festival, which took place on March 24 in Katowice, Poland. Blaze Bayley and his band put on a 90-minute show consisting of the best tracks from BLAZE's discography as well as select cuts from IRON MAIDEN ("Man on the Edge", "Futureal"). The DVD will also include many great bonus features, such as an interview with Blaze Bayley, an interview with all members of Blaze's band (featuring footage filmed during their visit to Poland) and more. A limited-edition "Alive in Poland" release will include a two-CD set with songs recorded at the concert.

Bayley's most recent release, "Blood & Belief" (which came out under the BLAZE banner),was issued in Europe in April 2004. The follow-up to 2002's "Tenth Dimension" was recorded at Backstage Studios in Derbyshire, England with producer Andy Sneap (NEVERMORE, EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY).
